SAN JOSE, Calif.—Victoria Recaño, the host of CBS Inside Edition, and her husband, Tom Burwell, were among the enchanted audience members of the Dec. 28 Shen Yun performance at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts. The couple brought their children and thoroughly enjoyed the production.

Mr. Burwell, a banking executive, was also very impressed by the story dance enhanced by the animated backdrop. He recounted one of his favorite scenes, in which the male dancer “went into the ocean, and there’s like a splash of water.”

“The interactions with the technical screen [bring the scene] back and forth between the heavens and then back on stage. So I thought that was very realistic,” he said.

As an Emmy® Award-winning host and reporter, Ms. Recaño has covered a wide range of topics from business to politics, from entertainment to lifestyle. She called Shen Yun’s classical Chinese dance “amazing,” while Mr. Burwell said it was “spectacular.”

Shen Yun’s dance costumes and colors are true to traditional aesthetics and styles. Ms. Recaño thought that “the costumes were great.” The vibrant hues and exquisite details bring the entire stage to life. Mr. Burwell said that “it is a festive dance history of China.”
