“I loved it. The experience was very dynamic because I see the coordination and the balance and the intersection that people had to participate in this amazing show,” said Mrs. Bressler, a therapist.
“Just want to thank them for their dedication,” added Mr. Bressler, a lawyer. “I mean, the amount of years it must’ve taken to get this good at what they do. So I’m very appreciative of everything that they’ve dedicated to, to get this good.”
“Beautifully choreographed and very interesting to see the history of China’s culture and all the different dances from the different regions and the different ethnicities,” he said.
Mrs. Bressler agreed with her husband, appreciating the artists’ efforts.
“It’s just phenomenal that they put so much effort and so much dedication to come up with something like that. And as you know, to put something like that together, it takes a lot of effort and dedication,” she said.
It was energy that came “from the inner soul,” she said.
As a mental health professional, Mrs. Bressler said she has been interested in traditional Chinese medicine, which speaks of energy and its effect on health. She knew the artists of Shen Yun also meditate and practice Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that teaches the three principles of truth, compassion, and tolerance, but is being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.

The artists’ passion also moved Bobby Fox, a lawyer, who attended the performance on March 30 with his wife, Phyllis, a nutritionist.
“I think that the background of the dancers, their abilities, they must have studied for years ... at least 10 years each, the dancers studying, practicing. So it’s very impressive, the technique and how well qualified they are,” Mr. Fox said.
“It’s very uplifting and also the orchestra, it’s a live orchestra, so that helps with the special effects too. The whole thing, the way they did this, is very well orchestrated, and it’s impressive. It really is. People that haven’t seen it would not know until they come here and interact in real life. I’m glad we came.”
“You have all different cultures here,” he added. “But at the end of the day, I think it all draws you toward a central theme.”
He saw a positive central theme in Shen Yun.
“It shows a message of peace, that also you can persevere and you can break through your problems and there’s maybe a good thing on the other side,” he said. “You just got to give some devotion and time and hopefully peace and energy come from it. That’s the message I took from it so far.”
Mrs. Fox said it was a performance she also thought people should see for themselves.
“I love the show, I recommend it, and I would like people to come and see it. The dancing is magnificent,” she said.

Like many other audience members, he was amazed by the talent, dedication, and artistry he saw on stage.
“I can’t imagine how much time and effort and dedication and devotion it will take, but I’m sure their whole lives have been dedicated to everything that they do and study them,” he said. To the artists, he added that he was “extremely impressed. Thank you so much.”
The performance left a big impression on Mr. Drost, who described an ethnic dance set in the snowcapped Himalayas, a classical Chinese dance where the female dancers wore long, flowing sleeves they manipulated through the air like water, heavenly scenes, and musical solos.
“Some of the words really resonated with me,” he said. “This is no accident. We’re here by a higher power and basically for each other. That’s just my personal feeling. You have a deep soul with the song, you know. You have a really deep soul with the song.”
