One laid-back dog, a well-known character in the Greek city of Thessaloniki, was ambling around in the street when a lively army drill showed up. And what happened next has been caught on film.
After strolling up to inspect the soldiers, the cute dog plopped himself down at their feet as they began their march. Far from letting them disturb his nap, the lazy pooch stayed exactly where he was, preferring to let the uniformed, booted troops go around him.
While a lot of animals would spook at a cacophony of trumpets and drums, the cool canine was simply unbothered. The video taken by an amused onlooker showed the dog seemingly nonplussed by all the noise and fuss as he soaked up a few rays in the middle of the road.
The clip, posted on social media, has garnered 2.4 million views and thousands of comments—several from Thessaloniki residents delighted to see the familiar pooch up to his usual antics.
“You can find him wherever is busy,” wrote one netizen. In the day he usually sleeps in the university campus, in the night, you might even find him taking a nap inside a crowded bar while music is deafening ... I really cannot understand how can he always be at the busiest place in the city.”
Another called him “a legend,” while someone else commented:
“I see this dog everyday I go to work. It’s the laziest dog in the city. That’s Thessaloniki and place is aristotelous square (sic).”
