A baby’s pure, angelic smile and blissful expression are like a little piece of heaven sent down to earth. For young children, it’s simply pure joy to welcome a new addition to their family—as it was for the little girl in this video. Her reaction was posted online, and it went viral.
On Oct. 2, 2018, North Texas mom Courtney Brooks delivered baby girl Charleigh at just 34 weeks, via an emergency C-section, as a result of heart complications.
Without a doubt, Brooks’s 8-year-old daughter Presley and her elder brother Reef were eager to meet Charleigh, who had been staying in the NICU after birth.
However, Presley and Reef didn’t get to meet their newborn sister yet, because visitors under 14 weren’t allowed inside the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in McKinney, Texas, as a precaution against respiratory syncytial virus and flu season.
Finally, on Oct. 18, 2018, the healthy Charleigh was discharged from the hospital after staying in the NICU for more than two weeks.
Brooks brought Charleigh back to their home in Melissa, Texas, without the knowledge of Presley and Reef.
Knowing that Presley and Reef would be meeting Charleigh for the first time after they got back home from school that day, Brooks was prepared to capture their sweet first meeting on her camera.
And luckily, Brooks got her camera ready, because Presley’s reaction was pure gold.
Overwhelmed by the surprise, Presley ran to hug her baby sister, saying, “Tears!” Seeing Charleigh for the first time was enough to melt her heart, as you can see from the expression on her face. She was speechless.
Presley was so happy that she placed her hands on her chest, shedding tears of joy.
“You want to hold her,” Brooks asked her daughter.
Of course, the little girl nodded her head to signal “yes.”
Elder brother Reef looked on as Brooks carefully placed Charleigh into Presley’s arms.
Presley, sitting on the sofa, beamed with joy and excitement, as she watched the tiny infant nestled peacefully in her arms. A tear rolled down her cheek while she held her baby sister—a precious treasure!
Judging from Presley’s reaction, we’re convinced she will be a loving sister to Charleigh. She’s going to be Charleigh’s protector, adviser, and best friend!
