HSINCHU, Taiwan—Renowned Chinese ink painting master in Hsinchu, Mr. Han Jintian, accompanied by his wife, watched the New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts 2009 World Tour presentation in Hsinchu on March 20.
They said they were “very pleased” to see the highly acclaimed Shen Yun performance as “such a wonderful performance is not easy to come by in Hsinchu area, Mr. Han said. ”I loved many pieces of the wonderful program, especially the last scene, [Knowing the True Picture Offers Ultimate Hope]. It just looked like in wonderland.”
Mr. Han said The Poet’s Vision was the dance that impressed him the most, and that the dancer who acted as the poet performed very well, his movements likened to martial arts.
He also praised the integration between the hi-tech backdrops and the dancers on stage.
“The backdrops were amazing. It was perfectly matching the performance. In particular, the scene in the last program, the turning law wheel, looked like a wonderland. It was very creative, and I’ve never seen anything like that before,” Mr. Han said.
Sitting next to her husband, Mrs. Han nodded her head in agreement. “The last act was really like [being] in wonderland.”
As an artist who has used brush pens to create many painting works, some published in painting albums, as if by coincidence, Mr. Han revealed that between the program of Legend of the Brush and his albums, the verses on the first page of one of his painting albums were similar to the scenes depicted in the show.
The verses recited were: “While numerous brush pens were falling from the sky, I was so lucky to get one. Therefore, it’s my obligation to use the pen to paint the beautiful things in the human world to share with others.’”
Mr. Han is often referred to as a versatile artist in art circles within the Hsinchu region.
Born into a poor family, Mr. Han earned a reputation as a talented writer, painter, growing bonsai plants, story-telling, and a connoisseur of tea.
Mr. Han was once invited by renowned Chinese painting Master Zhang Daqian, to take care of the bonsai plants in his residence. Inspired and instructed by Master Zhang, Mr. Han created many quality artistic works.
