HSINCHU, Taiwan—The first performance of Shen Yun Performing Arts in Hsinchu on March 19 attracted local dignitaries, celebrities, and scholars. Vice -president of National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan (NTHU), Yip, Ming-Chuen attended. He said after the show, “All of the performances of Shen Yun are innovative. It’s not easy. I would like to recommend my friends to watch such a show.”
Mr. Yip thought that Shen Yun is innovative in many aspects. “Shen Yun represented Chinese traditional culture with modern means. Shen Yun systematically manifested it. After watching the show, we can have a new understanding about forgotten Chinese culture. I think it is very good.
“I think it is quite hard for a show with traditional classical dance to freshen people’s understanding of Chinese culture. From modern people’s points of view, it’s not easy to attract an audience to watch traditional dance, but Shen Yun performed very well. It combines excitement and art. I think it’s excellent,” he said.
Professor Yip was most impressed by the program, Dance of the Yi. He said, “I enjoyed the dancing very much. It’s very pleasing.”
