SARASOTA, Florida—The Divine Performing Arts (DPA) 2009 World Tour in Sarasota on Dec. 22 continued to amaze and inspire audience members. Chinese-American physician, Edward Lin, M.D., accompanied by Mrs. Lin, said they loved the show.

Reflecting on the show, Dr. and Mrs. Lin recalled Welcoming Spring and The Udumbara’s Bloom.

Dr. Lin described “Welcoming Spring,” a fan dance, and the Yi Ethnic Dance to be “very flowery, very colorful.” Regarding the fan dance, he said, “I think the booms were very delicate and feminine.”

“I like seeing how the fans open up into a flower,” added Mrs. Lin.

Dr. Lin said, “I think the message that I see, that I sense, is peace, harmony. I think it really shows off the Chinese as very peaceful, refined people. And I think our history has consistently demonstrated it. … Chinese have traditionally been very, very peaceful.”

Dr. Lin would highly recommend the show as a must-see. “I think that every show gives me the element of pride. We have so much to offer.”

“I think Asian-Americans can take great pride in [an] extreme[ly] rich heritage that we have. We have people who contributed enormously to humanity, both in the arts and sciences. I believe that we will continue to demonstrate ourselves as people who are interested in peace and harmony and to contribute to [the] world.
