Little Ashton Bruce is always trying to imitate his big sister. Thus when 9-year-old Akira Bruce ran and did an impressive cartwheel outside their house, he just had to give it a go, too. The resulting funny video has since tugged at netizens’ heartstrings.
“The video went extremely viral,” Ashton’s mother, Ashley Cozart, told The Epoch Times. “It got a lot of comments [with people] saying that this video brought a lot of light and laughter into their life.”
According to his mother, 2-year-old Ashton is a “happy baby” who has a super big and courageous personality. The little boy shares a very close bond with his step-sister and doesn’t leave her side whenever she comes home.
“He’s always attached to her; he wants to do everything that she does,” Ms. Cozart said.
On Nov. 11, as the kids were playing outside their family home in Riverdale, Illinois, Ashton, who is very “curious and determined” to imitate what the older kids are doing, attempted to do a flip following his sister’s lead.
Not knowing at the time that the moment would go viral, Ms. Cozart decided to record the hilarious antic and share it online.
“The moment when I knew that it went super viral was when the Sherri Shepherd producer reached out to us and said that she wants to add it to the morning show,” Ms. Cozart said, adding that the toddler’s hilarious clip has since made it to many media channels.
However, this isn’t the first time Ashton has taken the internet by storm. When he was a baby, Ms. Cozart posted a video on Facebook of Ashton comically attempting to get his point across.
“He couldn’t really talk,” she said, “but he would just argue with you and try to be older than he is. He was only 1 at the time. That one got over a million hits.”
Meanwhile, Ashton’s latest clip is still cracking people up to this day, including his family.
“We’re still laughing at the video today,” his mom said.
