TORONTO, Canada—Chungsen Leung, a former member of the Canadian Parliament, attended Shen Yun’s evening performance at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts on March 31.
A Taiwanese-born Canadian who had spent most of his life in the West, Mr. Leung doesn’t often get to see classical Chinese dance. He felt very touched that Shen Yun is presenting it to the world.
“To know that China has traditions like these—it’s very moving.”
Only at Shen Yun can you find it performed in its purest form—the way it was originally passed down through the generations.
Shen Yun’s dedication to preserving traditional Chinese culture made a huge impression on Mr. Leung.
“This was something that made me very happy and very touched. The show brought us not just Chinese legends and dance but also traditional values of how, we, as humans should behave.”
“Decorum, justice, integrity, and honor—the fact that they were able to keep these values alive was very special,” he said.
Mr. Leung’s daughter accompanied him to the show.
“I want to pass this culture on to the next generation. My daughter was born in Canada so she really hadn’t had any opportunity to learn about China. I brought her here today hoping she can gain some knowledge [through Shen Yun.]”
Mr. Leung felt very proud of what Shen Yun is doing and will definitely be recommending it to all his friends. “They must come take a look and learn about Shen Yun’s dance and music!” he exclaimed.
