“I love the costuming, and the dancing technique is stellar,” said Mrs. Martignetti, a healthcare attorney for Fresenius Medical Care. “The whole ambiance here is just amazing.”
“The movements, the colors. Very exciting,” added Mr. Martignetti, an electrician and real estate owner. “Very disciplined dancers. Very beautiful.”
When the Chinese Communist Party seized power in 1949, traditional Chinese culture was demolished and nearly lost. During the performance, the audience learns that, to this day, Shen Yun is not allowed to perform in China.
“Experiencing this, in this venue, with these beautiful … technically talented dancers is something I really enjoy,” she said.
“I especially love the connection between the screen and performance,” he said. “[How] they bounce between, [I] just have a definite appreciation for that.”
Mr. Martignetti said that he saw Shen Yun’s message to be “about the beauty that was and how things change,” while Mrs. Martignetti saw it to be about “bringing the spirituality, the beauty, and the enjoyment of dance” to the audience.
