MONTREAL—Many audience members can’t get enough of Shen Yun Performing Arts and they return to see it again and again.

“This is my 2nd time seeing the show. It’s the best show I’ve ever seen in my life. Maybe I'll go and see it a third time on Sunday. This show is priceless, it’s absolutely incredible. I’m speechless,” said Luis Miguel Martinez, a business owner.

Shen Yun is based in New York and its mission is to revive 5,000 years of Chinese civilization.

“Everything is superb,” Mr. Martinez said.

He added that Shen Yun was portraying a powerful message of freedom—a freedom of expression despite the Chinese Communist Party.

Shen Yun’s artists are trained in classical Chinese dance, one of the most comprehensive dance systems in the world.

“It’s unique. This is the most beautiful show I’ve ever seen in my life,” Mr. Martinez said.

Stela Belevici, an HR manager, was also in the audience this evening. She was highly impressed by Shen Yun’s dancers.

“I’m very impressed with the show. I’m amazed how gracious and silent the dancers are. They look like feathers on the scene. Sometimes they gave the impression they’re flying and not really touching the ground,” Ms. Belevici said.

Shen Yun’s live orchestra is a unique combination of traditional Chinese instruments and a classic Western ensemble. Ms. Belevici appreciated how the orchestra accompanied the dancers without distracting from it.

“I liked that the orchestra’s sound is not too loud. It gives you the impression that you’re somewhere in the scene without being really disturbed by the music being too loud,” she said.

Ms. Belevici was also struck by the journey through Chinese history that Shen Yun took her on.

“I was very impressed by the sequence of the scenes that goes a long way back in history, and I was also very surprised that they addressed [the] contemporary side of history, too. I said traditions and some concerns that China is still currently facing,” she said.
