A man has spent almost $25,000 on his impressive collection of Lego, transforming his home office into an incredible Lego-themed man cave.

Mike Atchison, 50, from the state of Washington, started collecting Legos from a young age, but since buying his home, he has made it into a full-blown hobby.

With over 100 sets, over 50 Lego Star Wars creatures, 1,343 different versions of Lego Star Wars mini-figures, and a few customized Lego Star Wars figures, Atchison and his wife, Anna, transformed their home office into a Lego heaven.

“As a kid, I grew up with Star Wars and Lego. I went through some old childhood boxes, discovering my old Lego sets and figures. For fun one day, I made a small display of the figures I had in our office,” Atchison said.

“Over the last few years, collectors have seen the values of Lego Star Wars sets, especially the figures, skyrocket.

“The figures alone are valued over $35,000, with the total collection being over $50,000 in today’s market.”

Atchison has acquired the collection solely for personal gain and has no intention of selling it.

“I am a collector, this was not done for investment purposes,” he said.

“Whenever we have visitors, they must see the ‘Lego Room!’ Even those who don’t know much about Star Wars or even Lego, appreciate the collection and are all very mindful not to touch.”

He added: “The rarest item I have is a figure of Yoda that says ‘NY I ❤️’ (heart) and this figure was from a special release during the 2013 New York Toy Fair, with only 1,000 of this figure made, which also makes it the most valuable I have.

“Besides driving my wife crazy sometimes, my collection gives me a fun and safe outlet from the daily stresses of work and life. It has also been a great way to connect and interact with other collectors worldwide.”
