A family in Scotland is all set to welcome four newborns this year.

Four sisters, mom of one Kerry-Anne Tomson, 41; mom of one Jay Goodwillie, 35; mom of one Amy Goodwillie, 24, and first-time mom Kayleigh Stewart, 29, who are pregnant at the same time are expected to give birth a few months apart from each other.

The number of young children in their family is set to double from four to eight, with the addition of two boys for the first time.

The siblings, from Stirling, also have two other sisters, mom-of-one Kim Goodwillie, 27, and Jodi Goodwillie, 21.

Jay and Kayleigh who are both expecting boys are due to give birth this month, while Amy and Kerry-Anne are due to give birth in August and October respectively.

“I’m still quite shocked,” Kayleigh, who works as a dog walker, said. “There will be another four kids this year—it’s doubling. ... all the babies will have cousins the same age.”

Although Kayleigh has loved being an aunt, she’s looking forward to being an active mom.

Kayleigh recalls that she and Jay first found out they both were pregnant before they revealed it to the whole family.

“Jay had been trying, we were on Facetime and she said ‘I’ve got something to tell you,’” Kayleigh said. “I said ‘No chance, me too.’”

A few weeks later, they both told the family at the same time with T-shirts.

“They thought I was wearing a t-shirt for Jay,” Kayleigh said.

At a shared gender-reveal party, both sisters were stunned to find out that they were expecting boys.

Meanwhile, Amy—who runs the family guesthouse—announced her pregnancy with the family at Christmas 2022, and Kerry-Anne—who works in pensions—shared the news in March.

Both of them had hoped for another child but wanted to focus on their young daughters’ early years first.

According to Kayleigh, the family has been closely knit and, at one point, even lived together in a share house.

“We would always steal each other’s clothes and make-up,” Kayleigh said.

Currently, the sisters live quite close to each other and daycare is close by too. Their mother is quite excited about her grandchildren’s arrival and will be everyone’s birthing partner.

Pregnancy has been quite difficult for Kayleigh, and she is looking forward to it being over.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting the wee guy to see what he looks like,” Kayleigh said. “Only four weeks and I can lie on my belly again.”

Kayleigh said, “It is statistically really unlikely to be pregnant at the same time.”

“It’s really weird how the body works,” Kayleigh said. “We have quite close periods so I don’t know if that is a factor.”

Having Jay in the same stage as her makes her turn to her whenever she feels something.

Soon the family is going to grow from 18—which includes the sisters and their partners— to 22.

“It’s like Russian dolls,” Kayleigh said.

Kerry-Anne further added that the news is really exciting for the family and she loves that the children will be able to attend the same nursery and school as they grow up.

“I’m sure they will be great friends,” she said.
