This adorable dog and grumpy cat appear to have opposite personalities, but their owner says they are the best of friends—despite the cat’s face saying otherwise.
Rinsa Li, 29, from Christchurch, New Zealand, loves taking pictures of her two pets Casper, a 6-year-old Samoyed pup, and Romeo, a 2-year-old cat.
The furry pair love spending time together, from cuddling up on the sofa to going on long walks around the country together. But despite the adorable relationship, Romeo can’t get rid of his hilariously grumpy expression that leaves strangers in hysterics when they see him.
Photographer Rinsa often takes her pets out together. They have been on road trips, have visited popular tourist attractions, and go out every day for a two-hour long walk.
“I always wanted to get a cat but I was unsure how Casper would react to it,” Rinsa said. “[W]hen my best friend got a cat I took Casper to meet him and it turned out he was very gentle and sweet so we decided to look for our dream cat.
“Now, the pair can’t be apart from each other.”
Rinsa said that when she first brought Romeo home, they separated them for almost a week, but “Casper was very curious.”
“Romeo was nervous and scared at first because Casper was so big and fluffy,” Rinsa said, adding that the big pup was really sweet.
“[Casper] would go up to Romeo and smell him and if Romeo got scared, he would gently move away.
“Romeo is the king of the house but he always secretly follows Casper around seeking his attention; it feels like Romeo has a dog personality and Casper has a cat personality sometimes.”
Rinsa added: “Romeo looks grumpy but he is the sweetest cat I have ever met; he allows everyone to hold him and gives great cuddles.
“We take them exploring on road trips and recently came back from a road trip with them which lasted for two weeks and we stayed in a camper van together.
“I can’t imagine a life without them.”
