TAINAN, Taiwan—The first performance of the internationally acclaimed Divine Performing Arts (DPA) opened in the Performance Hall, Tainan Municipal Cultural Center in Tainan, on Feb. 20.
In the audience was Ms. Hou Yangling, a piano teacher, who has taught Piano for 15 years. She was thrilled with the performance.
“I think the import of the entire show is very good. Not only the dancing was neat, but also the colors of the costumes are gorgeous. The contents of the show help people to have more knowledge about Chinese culture, bringing us the spiritual world of traditional China.”
She was especially impressed by the music, a combination of Western and Chinese composition. “This music reveals to the audience all of its traditional origins. It’s not the feeling of listening ancient Chinese music, but you can tell there are many traditional musical instruments and as well as Western ones in the music.”
She thought the music made the dancing even more outstanding.
She also felt the colors of the show were rich and gorgeous. “Every time the curtains were drawn, I felt bright and delighted. I was amazed, because everything went together beautifully. The theme of every program matched perfectly.”
Ms. Hou thought every program was amazing, but the last one gave her a huge surprise “because the layout was the biggest and the colors were beautiful.” [Knowing the True Picture Offers Ultimate Hope]
“When the artists were dancing, they wanted to dance perfectly. The level was high, and the messages given through the performance was a belief in gods, which is good.”
Another piano teacher, Wang Yali said: “When I watched the program about the persecution, my eyes filled with tears. The program was very touching.” [Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution]
“I appreciated their dancing, which was light and different from Western dancing. The artists were graceful and beautiful—every one was charming. I felt they all martial artists—there was strength, quietness, and beauty.
“I felt today I was like an emperor watching a show. The audio and lighting were enjoyable. They went well together, and the backdrops were in harmony with all of the programs. That kind of feeling and power was something quite different.”
Each backdrop is custom-designed to match perfectly the choreography of the dance at hand, as well as its costumes, story line, lighting, and music.
