A Wendy’s customer in Central Florida who was initially upset about a delay in her order returned to the restaurant with a gift for an employee after learning that the fast-food chain was short-staffed—proving that kindness still existed in the world.

Carolyn Bravo Diaz, the mother of one of the outlet’s employees, explained in a Facebook post on Aug. 14 that for the last few weeks, the outlet had only two working staff members—her son and another employee.

Diaz explained that a customer became upset after the order she placed through the drive-thru took 15 minutes to get done.

“She was very upset about it and complained to the manager on duty,” Diaz wrote. “After the manager spoke to her and explained to her that there were only two employees working, she came back with a gift for my son.”

The gift included some cash and a handwritten card expressing her gratitude to him for continuing to work despite some really difficult times.

The note read: “You and I don’t know each other, but I came through your drive-thru this morning. I believe God wants you to know He sees you. He sees what a GREAT job you are doing amidst tremendous difficulty. He sees how hard you are working without any help. He sees your dedication and commitment to doing your best. He is PROUD of you and so am I. The Lord is going to use this difficult situation for your good and He is going to bless you for choosing to do the right thing and for ‘showing up.’”

Reading these touching words, Daiz wanted to thank the kind stranger and share with netizens that “there’s still kindness [in] this world.”

Needless to say, the post tugged at some netizens’ heartstrings.

One social media user said: “That made me cry.” Another chimed in, adding: “God works his Miracles gives us all different jobs so we can see the light of day. Many blessings.”

After the media picked up her story, Diaz shared a follow-up, saying that so many individuals were touched by the gracious individual gift and kind words.

“To me the most important part was not the fact that my post made it on the news, But the fact that God was mentioned,” she explained.
