Can you spot the stealthy bird which is perfectly camouflaged on a pebble beach? And if so, can you tell what species it is?
This photograph snapped by Raphael Golez, 44, who is a consultant geriatrician, will have you squinting whilst trying to spot the small but long-tailed bird with grey, white, and black feathers.
The bird, which is perched on Winchelsea Beach, East Sussex, can barely be seen.
“It took me about 10 seconds to capture the image,” said Raphael, from Hasting, East Sussex.
“I was having difficulty acquiring focus first as the bird is blending nicely with the pebbles until it moves.
“A lot of viewers have had a hard time finding the bird but they find it very rewarding when they do.”
Were you able to spot the bird hiding amidst the pebbles and determine what species it is?
Here it is:
This bird is called a pied wagtail, a sprightly black- and white-feathered bird, which can be found wagging its long tail frantically across Europe, as well as parts of north Africa, Asia, and Alaska.
