A wildlife photographer took this striking aerial image of two red kites flying in perfect formation.

The pair of predatory birds were seen swooping together by Josh Adamms in Wales on May 31.

The 34-year-old was out on a day trip with his family in Rhayader, near the Elan Valley.

“There was loads of birds there—they put out meat on a daily basis for them and then they swoop down,” he said.

“I just got lucky with the pictures.”

Red Kites became extinct in England in 1871 and in Scotland in 1879 after relentless hunting.

The entire remaining Welsh population was derived from a single female bird.

They were reintroduced in England by a program run by the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds), which has seen their numbers rise by 1,026 percent between 1995 and 2014.
