A Florida couple who have built their life and marriage around God strive to maintain a harmonious family and lead by example. At times, it involves planning fool-proof surprises for family.
Timothy Ramjohn and his wife, Tatyana, live in Winter Garden, and they say faith is the foundation of their marriage.
With his belief rooted in traditional Biblical values, Mr. Ramjohn takes pride in his role as a provider and protector and being a present father and husband. Some time back, he came up with a brilliant idea to surprise his beloved wife whose mother and brother were planning to visit her.
Mr. Ramjohn teamed up with his mother-in-law and told his wife that his own brother and niece were coming over to stay for a week. To convince his wife, he even showed her a text from his brother saying he was coming to stay.
The doting wife wasted no time and pulled out all the stops to prepare a nice room for them. At their small apartment, Mrs. Ramjohn dutifully set about moving the kids’ beds into the master bedroom and setting up guest beds.
It had been a long time since Mrs. Ramjohn had seen her own younger brother—three years—and she hadn’t seen her mom for over a year. She really missed them but, nevertheless, was pleased her brother-in-law and his daughter were planning on visiting.
A couple of weeks later, the couple went to the home of another family member for dinner. After the meal, Mrs. Ramjohn’s mother and brother arrived, straight from the airport. Her reaction, captured on video, was of sheer joy and surprise.
“I was shocked,” Mrs. Ramjohn told The Epoch Times. “I saw my brother first because my mom was off to the side. I hadn’t seen him for so long. I was just really happy and overwhelmed.”
Mr. Ramjohn said his wife had been telling him for a while how much she missed her mom and brother, so he was delighted his plan came together.
“Tatyana’s mom contacted me and told me that she was thinking about coming down to visit from New York. So that’s when we decided it would be nice to surprise her,” Mr. Ramjohn said. “I was happy that it worked because I was scared somebody was going to say something.”
Mrs. Ramjohn’s mom and brother stayed with them for a week, and everyone had a great time. As well as going down to theme parks and doing a drive-through safari with the couple’s three young children, they spent a lot of time eating together and watching movies.
“It was so special—being far away from family sometimes can be hard,” said Mrs. Ramjohn, who is originally from Brooklyn. “The moment I saw them was amazing, and they didn’t want to leave when it was time to go.”
Asked if she was fully taken in by her husband’s sweet prank, Mrs. Ramjohn answers in the affirmative.
“I was,“ she said. ”I was a little suspicious at first because he was acting a little funny. But he sealed the deal with the text message he asked his brother to send; that was a good touch.”
The Ramjohns met at church in Miami and have been married for seven years.
“We were making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the homeless when I saw her,” Mr. Ramjohn said. “We believe that God brought us together and has been with us ever since.”
The Ramjohns say it’s important for them to cultivate a heart of gratitude and have faith in God regardless of the life season they are in, and they love to demonstrate the same to their kids by taking them to Church regularly.
“Our faith is very important, especially in raising our kids in a generation where it is so much going on,” he said.
