A parking lot outside of a check cashing outlet in Houston was the scene of a reported carjacking, which took place on Sept. 7, at around 12:30 p.m., the Houston Police Robbery Division stated.
The female complainant was leaving the establishment at the 6500 block of Airline Dr. when she said the suspect, described as a white male wearing khaki pants and a blue shirt, confronted her at gunpoint and demanded the keys to her truck.
Grabbing the keys, he attempted to steal her 2011 GMC Sierra. At this point, a male good Samaritan who witnessed the incident rushed over and attempted to pull the man from the driver’s seat of the truck.
Another bystander at the scene managed to capture the altercation on video. Grainy footage shows the men exchanging blows, the suspect striking the good Samaritan on the head with his gun and kicking him. Moments later, a second male is seen rushing over.
The truck is then seen speeding off, the new arrival having to jump from the moving vehicle.
At time of writing, the Sierra, whose last four VIN numbers are 0351, has not been recovered.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the charging or arrest of any felony suspects involved in the crime.
