An adorable fluffy dog who interrupted a Premier Division soccer match in Chile and stole the ball has become the unofficial star of the game.
In the middle of the match at La Granja, Chile, on May 15 between home team Curicó Unido and the opposition team, Palestino—also from Chile—the play was halted when an excitable dog invaded the pitch. He made a beeline for the ball, with his tail wagging, and stole the ball from under a player’s feet.
In footage of the humorous moment, the crowd cheers as players surround the dog. The fluffy mischief-maker, unfazed, crouches low over the ball as if to entice the sportsmen to play with him, but the game must go on. After failing to prise the ball from the dog’s mouth, Palestino player Maximiliano Salas picks up the pup and escorts him off the pitch with others seen laughing in the background.
“The face of the dog when the bouncer takes him away,” wrote one user, while another guessed at the dog’s internal monologue: “I do not regret anything!”
