A heartwarming video has captured a loyal pet dog running behind the ambulance that was taking its ailing owner to the hospital.

The unidentified woman was reportedly treated at home in Buyukada Island, Istanbul, Turkey, with her beloved golden retriever by her side. However, on June 2, first responders decided to take her to the hospital for closer observation, according to the New York Post.

In footage released by Reuters, the pooch tries to make its way into the ambulance after its owner in her wheelchair was loaded into the vehicle. However, medical staff denied the canine the opportunity to ride inside the ambulance due to health and safety concerns.

But as soon as the ambulance door closed to make its way to the hospital, instead of waiting in the house until its owner returned back, the determined dog had other plans.

Running as fast as it could, the dog chased the ambulance for several blocks and didn’t allow it to ever get more than a few meters away right up until the hospital.

After reaching the hospital, the faithful dog waited pertinently for its owner to be unloaded from the ambulance and stayed outside the hospital until the woman was treated by the doctors inside.
