FRANKFURT—Frankfurt’s Jahrhunderthalle was the perfect venue for the Shen Yun Performing Arts Touring Company’s opening night.

The New York-based Shen Yun artists enchanted the audience with their leaps and artistic skills. Audience members responded with spontaneous applause during the Lanterns and Flowing Silk scenes, impressed with the artists’ complicated movements.

A few audience members kept in rhythm with the music by gently clapping to the tune.

Shocked silence and an occasional tear were seen during the dances based on the situation, today in China, for those who follow their beliefs. [Nothing Can Block the Divine Path and Astounding Conviction].

William Brodel, owner of a tax advisory service had come to see the show. He mentioned that he had had taken several tours to China.

‘I loved the show because there were so many different scenes and it gave me a glimpse of Chinese Culture,” he said.

Then he added, “The beauty of this show lays in the many different aspects and the ever changing scenes.”

Dr. Gundolf Mackenroth, a retired physician, and his wife Sabine were also in the audience and were impressed with the emcees commentaries before the curtain opened to the next scene.

“It is historically interesting and quite colorful. The emcees commentaries are helpful, and explain things well,” said Dr. Mackenroth.

“I also appreciate the dances from various parts of China. One senses the centuries and thousands of years old culture.”

“I very much enjoyed the show,” said Juergen Kern, former manager at the Bosch Company.

Juergen came to the show on the recommendation of his friend who had seen the Shen Yun show during its 2009 Shen Yun global tour. He and his wife are glad that they bought tickets to the show and both said that they were very impressed with what they had seen.

“The Flowing Silk dance was magnificent. The colors displayed before our eyes were dazzling,” he said before leaving.
