Officials in Lubbock, Texas, are discussing outlawing abortion within city limits as plans for a new Planned Parenthood clinic come to a close. The state of Texas has been referred to as “ground zero” for the battle to outlaw abortion.
Abortion has already been outlawed in 14 other Texas cities, and several Planned Parenthood clinics were closed in 2013 thanks to House Bill 2. But recently, an anonymous $9 million donation prompted the self-proclaimed “reproductive health care” giant to revive efforts to spread through West Texas.
