Sally Struthers, best known for her role in the classic television sitcom All In The Family, began her lead role in the Off-Broadway play Nunsense, June 3, to favorable reviews.

Nunsense
is a stage play based on a comedic novel by the same name. The play debuted at the Mt. Gretna Playhouse in Pennsylvania. It will then travel on to multiple playhouses across the country throughout the year, but Struthers is presently signed on for just the series at Mt. Gretna Playhouse, reported Playhouse.com.

Struthers took a brief break from the stage before starring in the show, playing the main nun, Reverend Mother Regina. Struthers is known for her acting work in off-Broadway stage productions, television roles, and as a spokeswoman for charities.

Struther’s most recent role was on the life-changing series, Gilmore Girls, as Babette Dell. Gilmore Girls stopped running on Warner Brothers in 2006.

Nunsense begins with a grizzly epidemic for the Little Sisters of Hoboken who discover that the convents cook has poisoned more than 50 nuns. Hilarity ensues as the remaining sisters concoct ideas to fund the burials of the dead nuns.
