The third New York Oyster Week runs Sept. 11–28, celebrating all things oyster, including history, ecology, and economy, and of course, offering tastings of the bivalve.
“This year’s curated collection of oyster-centric events is bigger and better than ever. ... There’s really something for everybody’s budget, schedule, and personality type,” said Kevin Joseph, co-founder of New York Oyster Week, in a press release.

Events include OystoberFest (you guessed it—pairing beer and oysters), AHOYsters (aboard Grand Banks, a historic schooner), ShuckEasy (featuring rare and exotic oysters), and an oyster and sake pairing.
