Kanye West is slated to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night—a year after his antics during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech.
West’s interruption created such a shockwave that even President Barack Obama jumped into the foray and decried him. But the rapper wants to prove that he is a changed man on stage.
However, according to CNN, VMA host Chelsea Handler will not reveal whether West is going to perform with Swift in a duet.
“He’s performing, so I’m sure he'll make some ode to the situation or somebody’s going to have to say something and that somebody might be me,” Handler told CNN.
Handler added that she does not have anything specifically lined up to make fun of last year’s Swift and West situation.
“Taylor, I’m really happy for you, and I’m gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time,” West said at last year’s awards ceremony.
After West famously interrupted Swift, internet message boards and social networking websites were flooded with images and memes making fun of West. More seriously, West’s reputation took a severe hit and he was axed from going on tour with Lady Gaga last year.
“It’s funny,” he wrote via his Twitter account. “I Can’t believe it’s been a whole year but can’t believe all that’s happened within this year at the same time.”

He has repeatedly apologized for his outburst and even wrote a song for Swift, who said accepted his apology.
West added that the upcoming performance “is slowly falling into place... I get so excited to do new things ... new energy.”
