However, although both the mother and son have the same condition, it has impacted them differently. While Elizabeth, a business owner, and influencer, has striking deep-blue and brown eyes, Liam has one blue eye, and his other eye has a tinge of both blue and brown.

Elizabeth has five children, but only Liam has inherited her condition.

Heterochromia iridum is a form of heterochromia, a condition that causes a person to have two different eye colors or more than one eye color. According to WebMD, most of the time, the condition doesn’t cause any problems but is caused by genes passed down from your parents.

However, the mother-son duo are not the first in their family who have this condition; Elizabeth’s father and siblings too have the same condition.

The mom of five, who is blessed to have these rare eyes, has taken the opportunity to educate people and inspire positivity about being born different.

“I love my eyes because they are unique. It’s okay to be different,” Elizabeth said. “I was often bullied while growing up and they were a normal part of my life but the response from others brought more attention to them.”

“My eyes were a common topic of interest when people who were not used to seeing them,” Elizabeth shared. “But now, (using social media platform), I feel blessed to be able to inspire others who have the same condition and may be uncomfortable with it.”
