Mexicue, the food truck to brick-and-mortar Southern-barbecue-meets-Mexican eatery has opened a new location in Times Square.

You'll also find bourbon- and tequila-based drinks (a Green Chili Bloody Maria includes tequila, green chili sauce, and pickled okra) as well as tea drinks (an Arnold Palmero with fresh-squeezed lemon-limeade and lightly sweetened iced tea).

A third Manhattan location at 225 5th Avenue in the NoMad district, will open in the fall.

“For us, it was the cart before the horse, quite literally,” said Mexicue co-founder Thomas Kelly. “The food trucks offered a way for us to establish and self-finance our brand at the beginning. Now the awareness has given way to bigger opportunities for us to open full-service restaurants that wouldn’t have been conceivable at start up.”
