A man from North Carolina had the shock of his life after a big black bear confronted him while he was relaxing on the patio of his house.
“Chillaxing at the end of the day didn’t expect to make eye contact so close,” Oppenheimer wrote.
The viral video that was filmed on April 15 shows the bear casually strolling by when Oppenheimer becomes aware of his presence and jumps. As the two of them make eye contact for a few seconds, Oppenheimer clutches a white pillow.
However, it wasn’t just Oppenheimer that seemed startled by the situation, the big mammal too was caught off guard and made a run in the opposite direction.
Since posting the video, it has gone viral amassing numerous comments from social media users.
“Omg!! Y’all both were startled,” one netizen said. While another added, “This is priceless!!”
According to Oppenheimer, this isn’t the first time the bear has visited his house.
For Oppenheimer being in such close proximity to the bear was a little bit awkward. However, he’s now thinking of installing a rearview mirror on his chair in case he’s faced with such an encounter again.
