A Taiwanese man who tried to convince his wife that his PlayStation 5 was an air purifier got his comeuppance: she allegedly forced him to sell it.
Wu regaled speaking with the man’s wife on the phone and said that she didn’t sound like someone who played video games but was eager to sell the gaming console. He added that he was even surprised at the price of the device as it seemed remarkably lower in comparison to the others he had come across.
However, when he went to collect the console, he was met by the disgruntled man himself. The man shared that he had originally bought the console on the e-commerce website PChome. Wu complimented the man’s ability for finding a good deal online and asked him if he had bought two of them, whilst questioning why was he selling it.
The man paused for a few seconds and later admitted with a “bitter” expression on his face that his wife had sniffed out his ruse and was forcing him to part with the coveted device.
“A woman can still tell the difference between a PS5 and an air filter,” Wu posted.
Wu’s post tickled netizens and has been shared over 4,100 times to date.
A supply shortage crushed many consumers’ dreams of getting their hands on the console in the first wave of its release, but manufacturer Sony stepped up to reassure fans of an imminent restocking.
“Demand for PS5 is unprecedented,” the company continued, “so we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year.”
