Inductees range from the gravelly-voiced Tom Waits to crooner Neil Diamond and shock rocker Alice Cooper. The Beastie Boys and Bon Jovi round out the group, according to MTV News, which consists of artists only eligible for nomination 25 years after the release of their first single or album. More than 500 music industry members and experts vote on the nominees.
The final list of inductees will be announced in December and the ceremony will take place at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City.
