J. Gumbo’s, a nationwide brand of fast-casual Cajun–Creole restaurants, has opened its first location in Manhattan, in the Flatiron District.
Dishes offered include crawfish étouffée, Creole-style jambalaya, gumbo, Bumblebee Stew (with yellow corn, stewed tomatoes, onions, and black beans in a sweet-spicy butter sauce), and a signature Drunken Chicken.
The specialties are based on the recipes that founder and Louisiana native Billy Fox Jr. learned from his grandmother.
