A military father surprised his daughter by showing up unannounced at her elementary school after a four-month absence. Their touching reunion was caught on camera.
Petty Officer 1st Class Branden Halbach had been stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, since the summer. On Nov. 10, he drove all the way to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to his daughter Anastasia’s Pre-K classroom at Liberty Elementary School, where his excited daughter hurled herself into a heartfelt embrace.
“It was a beautiful moment that deeply touched everyone present,” Broken Arrow Public Schools (BAPS) representative told The Epoch Times. “When Anastasia caught sight of her father, she dashed towards him, expressing her love by leaping into his arms. Their reunion was incredibly emotional, filled with love.”
“That moment I came through the door, I couldn’t hold myself back,” Petty Officer 1st Class Halbach said. “I really wanted that for myself and finally got my moment, and now I reflect and think about all those who can’t be here ... it makes me treasure it that much more.”
BAPS representative told The Epoch Times that witnessing their reunion was “an emotionally charged experience for everyone present.”
She said: “Their reactions were incredibly positive and heartfelt, reflecting the joy and happiness of seeing a family reunited after an extended period apart.”
The school district decided to share the footage to demonstrate their unwavering support for military families and to celebrate a magical moment.
“The overwhelming positive responses and reviews we received demonstrated the community’s warmth and appreciation for the love between a father and daughter,” they said.
