An adorable corgi from Finland was born with a very unique appearance that includes one eye and two noses. It was suggested by a veterinarian and the breeder that she be put down. However, now eight years later, the dog is enjoying a happy fun-filled life.

Nekku was born to a set of corgi parents that both performed successfully at dog shows. Although the genealogy was planned for the litter of puppies, something went wrong with Nekku.

Apart from the genetic birth defects that left her with an unusual appearance, Nekku suffers from two fused vertebrae. However, despite this, Jarmo Korhonen, a researcher, fell in love with her.

“Vets were very suspicious about Nekku’s development and they proposed euthanasia as a solution—but I didn’t want to let that happen,” Jarmo said, according to The Lad Bible.

Unfortunately, the breeder too was unsure if anybody would accept this puppy for her special appearance. However, Jarmo, who couldn’t bear the thought of having the puppy euthanized, decided to bring her home.

Nekku soon joined the clan of two other corgis, Niisku-Neiti and Karkki, that were already living at Jarmo’s house. As a puppy, Nekku’s uncommon face attracted even her fellow pooches. “I found Niisku-Neiti staring at her face many times. She was clearly a little bit curious about her looks,” Jarmo shared.

But it was not just dogs that were curious about Nekku’s appearance. When she is out on walks in the city, Jarmo said it becomes hard for them to continue a stroll as there are many people who are inquisitive about her.

“We have to stop every now and then to answer questions and comments about Nekku’s nose, eye and fluffy fur—everybody loves her unique appearance,” Jarmo explained.

Meanwhile, there are others who comment that the corgi’s moniker should be “Beretta” as her nose resembles a double-barreled shotgun, according to Jarmo.

As a puppy, Nekku had problems with understanding the 3D perspective and would often bump into other dogs. Thus it was then decided back then that the dog would live with Jarmo’s mother in the countryside so that she could be free and enjoy the open surroundings. Unsurprisingly, Jarmo’s mom was excited to take care of the happy corgi.

Despite all the odds stacked against her, Nekku, who enjoys secretly picking up gooseberries, has defied them to be a joyful puppy.

“It’s been a miracle that this funky, fluffy creature exceeded expectations, even with her own cute and weird way,” Jarmo said.

Although Nekku stays away from the other corgis, the puppies when they meet have a great time together.
