Lauper has sold more than 25 million records worldwide since her music became popular in the early 1980’s.
The album is available for pre-order on her website with the official release date slated for Tuesday.
Lauper also has a list of television, radio, and record store appearances set up to usher in the release of “Memphis Blues.”
She will stop by the Howard Stern Show on the day of her album’s release followed by an in store appearance at J&R Music World in New York City.
The singer is also scheduled to appear on ABC’s Good Morning America and Live with Regis and Kelly.
Lauper mentioned her upcoming appearance in a Twitter message to fans.
“Memphis Blues is out on my B'Day, tues. Got Howard Stern, with Jonny Lang, in the morning, then Larry Flick, and Blues station, J&R music 12:30,” said Lauper.
The singer is set to do a handful of shows in the US; her tour included a recent stop on the Tonight Show.
[xtypo_dropcap]L[/xtypo_dropcap]ast week she also made an appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman where she talked about her new album and the changes in her style.
Lauper performed one of her latest songs titled “Early In The Mornin,” that shows she has taken a turn towards the Blues, and has shed most of the bubblegum-style pop that rocketed her into the spotlight in the 1980’s.
Her hairstyle, though, still carries a nod to the post punk style she was known for in the 1980’s.
Lauper was first known for her hit “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” that was followed by the hit “Time After Time,” both singles were featured on her album “She’s So Unusual” released in 1983.
Lauper’s singing still has a touch of high-end vocals, but her range has deepened over the years. This depth adds to the blues style she embodies in “Memphis Blues.”
The singer is also helping to promote a new line of lipstick that geared to help AIDS victims. Mac VivaGlam Lipstick will give a portion of its proceeds to those suffering from the disease.
Lauper’s first show US show will be June 25, in Morristown, NJ, at the Mayo Center for the Performing Arts.
Lauper will tour for the remainder of the summer with the last stop being in Vancouver on the 3rd of September.
