This is the adorable moment a loving Labrador jumped into the water to “rescue” its owners swimming in a reservoir.
When Courtney Earnhart, her sister Caitlyn, and her friend Megan Jones were visiting Flaming Gorge in Utah, they took her dog Dakota with them.
Funny footage shows the 5-year-old Labrador retriever whining as the girls jumped into the water before finally leaping in herself.
Dakota paddled directly over to her humans and appeared to corral them back towards the shore whenever they were swimming.
Ms. Earnhart said: “We aren’t at bodies of water often, but Dakota would jump in every time. She would get nervous.
“She would swim out to you and expect you to grab on to her as she led you to shore to safety.”
“We thought it was so cute,” Ms. Earnhart said.
“She would do it until exhaustion, and we didn’t want to do that to her, so we would jump for our own fun, but limit the amount of jumps for her sake.
“She loves her humans dearly and wouldn’t want anything to happen to them. She does the same thing in slides or tunnels.”
