An American couple has shared about their romantic snowy wedding proposal that didn’t go according to plan but instead involved a moose charge, an exchange of rugby tackles, and a momentary ring loss.

Morgan Carter, 21, his girlfriend, Natalie Bucklein, 23, his brother, Riley, 23, and his sister-in-law Jess, 24, had set off on a hike to a snowy mountain with Morgan planning to propose.

However, a moose charged toward them when he got ready to ask Natalie the big question.

“Jess was getting ready to record the proposal and had started the video,” Morgan, from Blackfoot, Idaho, told Newsflare. “I then saw a moose coming towards us—it was about 15ft away.”

“I instinctively grabbed Natalie and ended up throwing her into the snow.”

Natalie, who had no idea that Morgan was going to propose, was actually ready to leave at this point because she'd nearly fallen into the creek.

Meanwhile, the moose stood there for a second and took off. Luckily, Jess and Riley were still focused on making the proposal happen and they asked the couple to pose for a photograph. By this time Natalie began to get suspicious, noticing that Morgan didn’t get closer to her to “pose.”

“I was nervous before but then I thought if I can deal with a moose, I can deal with this,” Morgan, who works as a wastewater operation technician, said.

He then got on one knee and asked Natalie the big question. She immediately jumped with both joy and shock.

“I tackled him in shock, I was excited and happy but also nervous,” she said.

However, that only sent Morgan plummeting to the ground. As Morgan fell, he dropped the ring which got lost under the snow. Fortunately, after a short search, they found the ring and Natalie said, “Yes.”

Although the whole episode was a “train wreck,” the pair were able to celebrate their engagement by finishing their walk and eating hot wings.
