Coachella 2010 Underway At Empire Polo Club

The annual music festival Coachella began on Friday, April 16, with a long list of A-list music groups as well as a longer list of smaller eclectic acts which included a variety of different genres of music such as rock, hip-hop, and reggae.

Jay-Z grabbed the headlines for Coachella on Friday as well as on Saturday with “Muse and Faith No More.” Acts scheduled for Sunday include the Gorillaz, Thom Yorke from Radiohead and Pavement.

Lesser known music groups such as Les Claypool, Dillinger Escape Plan, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Glich Mob are performing across the three day event and aim to provide a unique line up to the Coachella event.

Coachella was set up at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, which is south of Los Angeles in Riverside County. The arena offered tent camping for guests along with sites for RV vehicles.

General admission passes to the three day event were priced at $269.00, according to information from the official website coachella.com. Parking was listed as free with a limit of eight people per group. The majority of concert goers will camp out for the event and all bags are subject to inspection.
