The law will be stayed in five school districts named in the case, remaining in effect in other parts of the state pending a final decision.

A federal appeals court has temporarily allowed most Louisiana school districts to implement a law requiring Ten Commandments displays in classrooms.

The plaintiffs could win the case based on their argument that the law violates the First Amendment, the judge said.

The order comes after the Supreme Court found Missouri, Louisiana lacked standing to block the Biden administration’s communicating with social media companies.

The justices ruled in May that the state should move forward with this year’s elections, but the court put off a decision on whether to hear the case until now.

The victims included all male children ages four to 13 and the suspect filmed the acts.

The DOJ touted reforms made by the New Orleans Police Department after an investigation found evidence of misconduct.

The IRS is also extending key filing deadlines for Louisiana residents and businesses affected by the hurricane.

‘We’re done with the impacts of that storm,’ state climatologist Jay Grymes said.

More than 160,000 residents are without power.

The storm has intensified to hurricane status. Storm surge warnings are in effect from High Island, Texas, to the Mississippi–Alabama border.

Francine is expected to make landfall as a Category 2 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 100 miles per hour.
