Lee Yuan/The Epoch TimesHSINCHU, Taiwan—The last show of Shen Yun Performing Arts in Hsinchu successfully ended at 10:30 p.m. on March 22. More than 6,000 people attended the six shows, performed over four 4 days.
Shen Yun has toured Taiwan annually for third years, but performed in Hsinchu for the first time. Hsinchu deputy mayor Chen Quangui, praised Hsinchu’s first show on March 19: “Shen Yun is a performance of very high quality. The show started from the Yellow Emperor’s creating the 5,000-year history to the dances of different ethnic groups. It showed the harmony of our ethnic groups. The artistic performance is laudable. Hsinchu citizens can enjoy this marvel of the highest caliber.
“The program, Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution is pretty realistic, especially the grievances of the couple, children, relatives, and friends. ... The protagonist was brought to heaven by Buddhas, that is, gods can save people and bring people to heaven,” Mr. Chen said.
Many Chinese are proud of the 5,000 years of Chinese culture and history. By watching Shen Yun people can relive Chinese culture, learn the origins of the 5,000-year history, and know the answers to all the puzzles of Chinese history. In two and a half hours, Shen Yun represents the essence of Chinese culture through dance and music.
