Savoury, which offers a modern, fine dining take on Indian cuisine, opened last week on the Upper West Side.

The restaurant comes from the creators of Surya in the West Village. Chef/owner Lala Sharma began his career at New Delhi’s renowned Bukhara and trained with top chefs in India.

Among the menu items are tender baby lamb chops, a favorite from Surya, marinated with yogurt and spices, and served with the chef’s special sauce, a proprietary combination of ginger, garlic, mustard, curry leaves, and tamarind.
