Logan LaPlante, a 13-year-old, has drawn attention to a concept called “hackschooling.”
Giving a Ted talk earlier this year, LaPlante says that he and other kids are often asked:
“What do you want to be when you grow up.”
While adults often ask this question to kids and expect answers like astronauts, or neurosurgeons, but kids mostly say things like skateboarders, skiiers, or video game players.
LaPlante said that when he really thinks about it, “When I grow up up I want to continue to be happy.”
What if we base education “on being happy and healthy?” LaPlante posits in his talk.
