Here’s a way to make sure Grandma is rested and ready to be a part of the little one’s life. Put a grannymoon on the calendar. Plan for yourself or gift a soon-to-be grandparent.

Here are five ideas to consider.

Take a Two-wheeled Break

It will be a while before the newest member of your family will be rolling on two wheels. So, rack up your bikes and head off to a park or trail system and explore fresh territory. Fish the Florida Keys

During a grownup getaway, chase big bonefish, tarpon and permit in the Florida Keys, one of the world’s top spots for saltwater fly-fishing. Practice your side casting and work on that double haul. Then prepare to be mesmerized by the reefs, flats and blue hue of these southern waters. Islamorada, comprised of six islands and billed as the “sportfishing capital of the world” is a popular spot for eager anglers. It’s said backcountry and saltwater fly-fishing were launched in this Florida community. Key Largo, the longest island in the archipelago, is said to host more than 600 species of fish.

Snorkel, scuba or paddle amid stingrays, sharks, turtles and other fish in water so clear and warm you’ll want to float in it forever. Or, discover a world of ancient treasures as you explore legendary Greek islands including Santorini and Mykonos. Your itinerary may include a visit to Rhodes, the largest of Greece’s Dodecanese islands, known for its ancient ruins and remnants of its occupation by the Knights of St. John during the Crusades. Wander through the Old Town area for shopping and restaurants and to learn about the region through a visit to the Palace of the Grand Masters.
