I’m not a doctor or a scientist; however, I can read and I’m capable of reasoning. Toss in a healthy dose of skepticism about all government experts, especially politicians, and you have a “free thinker.”

On July 26, Katy Grimes, writer for California Globe in Orange County, said that the CDC is finally pulling the plug on the much-touted PCR test. It seems that the tests can’t differentiate between the COVID-19 and the flu! Of course, this won’t take effect until Dec. 31, 2021. So much for science experts, always a day late and a dollar short! Is “global warming” far beyond?

The question becomes, why? We’ve been relying on this test to shut down businesses; implement “Machiavellian” policies requiring face masks and social distancing; cancel needed surgeries; shut down outdoor activities, including the beaches; create an inordinate amount of fear, and even request that citizens “turn in” our friends and neighbors for not complying. Let us not forget the shutdown of our schools and colleges, forcing parents and others to work from home and to learn from home! Becoming “shut-ins” in our ever-shrinking world.

Of course, our governor managed to send his kids to a private school. And I would be remiss not to mention our governor’s blatant disregard for his own edicts by going to the French Laundry with friends and lobbyists, all without masks! One of the most expensive restaurants in the U.S.

In June, he gave us a brief respite from mask-wearing. We were hopeful that the tide had changed. Businesses were beginning to open. Hope springs eternal! But it was not to be. The governor gave the county health departments the authority to enact further restrictions, when necessary, enabling him plausible deniability for another shutdown. He is, after all, the subject of a recall election for his incompetence! Never let a good crisis go to waste, a familiar refrain.

Suddenly, rumblings of a virus mutation called the Delta variant became the next obstacle to our freedom from tyranny!

According to Grimes, and reported by the Southern Cal News Group, masks are mandatory again in Orange County after two people in the Superior Court building tested positive for COVID-19. The questions left unanswered: Were they “sick “or hospitalized? Have they died? SCNG went on to say that more than 260,000 people in the county have contracted the “disease.” Funny choice of words, disease versus virus? The presumption would have you believe the 260K figure would be somewhat recent. You would be wrong! Actually, the figure is for the last 16 months. So what was the actual number that pushed us back into mask-wearing, especially since the PCR tests can’t distinguish between the flu and COVID?
