Benchmark U.S. crude oil for August delivery rose 21 cents to $69.37 a barrel Monday. Brent crude for August delivery rose 33 cents to $74.18 a barrel.

Wholesale gasoline for July delivery rose 2 cents $2.54 a gallon. July heating oil rose 3 cents to $2.44 a gallon. July natural gas rose 6 cents to $2.79 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Gold for August delivery rose $4.20 to $1,933.80 an ounce. Silver for July delivery rose 48 cents to $22.83 an ounce and July copper fell 2 cents to $3.82 a pound.

The dollar fell to 143.45 Japanese yen from 143.81 yen. The euro rose to $1.0915 from $1.0891.
