The city of Aurora, Ohio, had an amusement park for decades before it finally closed down in 2007. Although it had been re-branded as a Six Flags, for most of its history it was known as Geauga Lake.
Nearly a decade after it closed, Marc Yeager decided to film the tomb of the old theme park with his DJI Phantom drone. The video is described as “a tribute to all the memories that this park helped create.”
The video was warmly received by people who used to visit the amusement park.
“Oh this is so heartbreaking. This park meant so much to so many people. It is great to see so many people still interested in it after all this time. I know I had so many wonderful summers there,” YouTube user Britfan06 wrote in a comment.
The person who created the video shared his sentiment.
“I’m glad you are all liking the video. It is very sad. I spent most of my summers here as a child and it brought back memories of what it was like. It’s sad to see what it has become, but it’s a great way to bring back memories,” the uploader’s comment read.
