A mechanic in Vietnam has built an incredibly unique house that rotates a full 360 degrees thanks to an underground mechanism he devised.
Nguyen Van Luong, 57, built his abode in Bac Giang province upon an underground water tank that allows it to spin using the same amount of power as an electric fan.
“I came up with the idea to build this house in 2009 and started construction in 2012 and completed it in 2016,” Mr. Nguyen said, adding that, due to the cost, the project had to be spread over several years. “It won’t be until 2023 to finish decorating the house.”
The project was a passion that ended up bankrupting him, he added.
Another unique thing about his house is that not only can it rotate 360 degrees, but it can be adjusted to face any direction and rotate at different speeds. The house also connects to a network of smartphones and can be rotated remotely.
The whole house, in fact, floats atop an underground cavity with a diameter of some 40 feet and has a system of propellers and rotating shafts.
In order to realize this dream of a rotating home, the 57-year-old poured his passion and knowledge into the project and experimented a number of times before he started construction.
For his tireless efforts, Mr. Nguyen was recognized by the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam and granted the exclusive patent on the house that rotates on a water tank.
