Drawing inspiration from a beautiful block print, Rebecca embarked on a creative journey to craft a bed that exudes elegance and serenity. Beginning with the sweet floral block print as a foundational element, Rebecca embraced a softer color palette, aiming to create a soothing atmosphere for a bedroom look.
Rebecca’s design inspiration stems from cherished memories of her childhood, evoking the delicate light-colored florals reminiscent of Laura Ashley’s timeless aesthetic. Additionally, she found inspiration in the works of John Robshaw, a master of block-printed textiles, whose designs capture the essence of global influences. Combining the influences, Rebecca curated fabrics with distinctive patterns, showcasing elements such as stripes and large checks, adding depth and character to the overall design.
One standout feature of this designer bed lies in the charming detail of the front 24-by-24-inch pillows. Rebecca’s creative touch shines through with the addition of playful trim, infusing a sense of fun and whimsy into the overall design. This eye-catching detail serves as a testament to Rebecca’s ability to create a cohesive and inviting space.
A Picnic Chic Look
This stunning designer bed was created by another talented Nell Hill’s designer, Taylor. Inspired by the joyous essence of summertime and the vibrant energy of outdoor activities, Taylor has crafted a bed that encapsulates the spirit of the season.
The centerpiece of the bed is the duvet, adorned with a playful and bold print called Crewel Summer in Cherry. The front of the duvet showcases the eye-catching pattern, adding a sense of excitement and whimsy to the bed. To achieve a timeless touch, the back of the duvet and cording feature a classic navy and white ticking, adding a touch of sophistication.
Delightful attention to detail can be found in every element of the duvet. The buttons are meticulously finished with a white fabric embellished with a light blue embroidery thread, creating a subtle dotted effect that adds depth and visual interest to the piece. This thoughtful design choice harmonizes with the rows of pillows adorning the bed, creating a cohesive and polished look.

Once she knew she wanted to use the Crewel Cherry fabric on the duvet, the choices for the accompanying pillows came together seamlessly. “I wanted to keep the fabrics bold and crisp,“ Taylor said. ”I also wanted to make sure there was a lot of variety in the details of the pillows. From pleats to micro welts to tassels, I wanted every row of pillows to feel unique.”
Embracing the design world’s current obsession with bolsters, Taylor incorporated them into the bedding design, adding a touch of contemporary elegance. Bolsters have been making a splash on cushions, beds and sofas, and Taylor was eager to feature them more prominently in recent designs.
One detail that stands out on the showstopping bolster is the charming tassels. The tassels have become Taylor’s favorite element, elevating the overall aesthetic of the bed. Normally, tape trim with tassels would be concealed within the seam of the pillow, but this time, it was simply too exceptional to hide. Taylor had a brilliant idea—why not showcase the tape trim and tassels on the outside of the pillow?
The bold decision to expose these elements demonstrates Taylor’s commitment to thinking outside the box and pushing the boundaries of design. It’s the small details that make a significant impact and set this designer bed apart.
A Stunner in Blue and Green
Last but not least, this splendid designer bed was crafted by Jenna, another one of our talented designers at Nell Hill’s.
