Ahh the summer. Don’t you just love it? A chance to sit back, unwind, enjoy the sunshine – if you’re outside the UK anyway. There’s something very optimistic about heading towards the airport in the summertime. A weight lifted from the stresses of life. And you can do it just about anywhere in Europe.

For many they may think they’ve done it all – the Eiffel Tower, the gondolas of Venice, the Trevi Fountain, but there’s so much more to take in and enjoy across the continent.

So go ahead, and take Europa Casino’s geography skill game  to check how well you can identify a location around Europe solely by looking around a random location and also find out some of Europe’s other great destinations.

Depending on where you stay, you may have a bit of a walk to the beach, but there’s little more relaxing than a stroll through this beautiful old town anyway. Dating back to Roman times, the commune lies overlooks the Bay of Naples, giving stunning views across towards the city itself and Mount Vesuvius which stands proudly towards the east.

The town has attracted the likes of Enrico Caruso and Luciano Pavarotti in the past, so you know the food is to die for, whilst the lemon groves are some of the most beautiful in the country, going to make the finest Limoncello.

Dramatic coastline, Cornish folklore, and some of the most historic towns in Britain, Cornwall is a place you can simply never get bored. Whether you’re wanting to visit the tiny fishing ports where smugglers used to bring in loot, or sit on the gorgeous beaches of Newquay, there’s something for everyone.

A must is Padstow, a beautiful little fishing port on the north side of the county, with incredible fish restaurants, and a real proud sense of what the Cornish community is about. But there’s plenty more to explore too. From the Eden Project to the Jamaica Inn, a pub immortalised by the Daphne du Maurier novel and later the movie of the same name by Alfred Hitchcock, you really cannot go wrong in this beautiful part of the world.

Prague

You'd be forgiven for thinking Prague is a much better visit in the winter, but the Czech city has plenty more to offer when the sun is shining. Strolling around the Old Town with the sun beaming off the Astronomical Clock is a sight to behold, whilst the likes of Charles Square is an incredible sight all year round.

Madrid

Whether you’re simply sat in Retiro Park soaking up the sun, or browsing the fine works of de Goya at the Prado Museum, it’s impossible not to buy in to the infectious Spanish culture. The Spanish capital isn’t as popular as its eastern neighbour Barcelona, but has a great deal to offer.

Simply walking along Gran Vila is enough to “wow” you, before stepping into one of the city’s many bars for some of the finest tapas you'll ever taste.

Kvarner Islands

But if you’ve been there done them and think you know it all, you can take the quiz to guess the European location, or you can spend this summer in the Adriatic at one of Europe’s best kept secrets – the Kvarner Islands. Taking a boat out from Zadar, a city which Alfred Hitchcock said had the most beautiful sunset in the world, the main islands of Cres and Krk are pleasant spots to spend a week in the sun, with traditional Croatian culture, rolling hillsides, and pristine beaches.

If you’re looking for a quiet spot then Cres is certainly the place to be, with the private beaches of Stivan being the perfect spot to while away the day, whilst you can head towards Lubenice for its perfect little restaurants that feature live music amidst a backdrop of heavenly blue ocean.
